A New Wardrobe: Spring Sewing Plans

The weather here is trying to be spring-like, but the odd snowflake still wants to fall.  Thankfully, they melt as quickly as they fall.  Most day though are lovely, and my winter coat has long since been put away!

The promise of spring has me going through my wardrobe and wondering just what I actually wore last summer.  The cost of shopping for new clothes versus sewing a few outfits is definitely tilted in favour of sewing.   This project is going to take a few afternoons and evenings, but other than time, I'll have some new things for almost free.  I have a fine stash of fabric waiting to become something new .... and since I sell patterns on Etsy, I also have a stash of those I can choose from.  I wish I had more time to sew, but there are lots of patterns that don't take too much time.

While I'm at it, I plan to make some outfits for the grandchildren too.  My sister bought some adorable cotton prints to make into dresses and we have to select some patterns.  My grandson should like a new shirt or two and some lightweight cotton pajamas.

I'll post photos of the fabrics and some finished projects another time.  I hope the pattern photos inspire you to create something for yourself or your little ones.  And if you are busy creating some new outfits, let me know what you are making.  Happy sewing!

PS.  I love patterns.  I collect them and have a huge stash of them.  Some of them are vintage; I'll post some of these great fashions another time.  Some of  my patterns have been listed in my Etsy shop at www.etsy.com/shop/RuthsGreenTreasures.  Special coupon to my blog readers for free shipping on pattern purchases during the month of April.  Use this code:  MyBlogCoupon
